What Anti-Science, Trump-Supporting Kook Takes 7X (!) More Vitamin D Daily Than Health Authorities Deem Safe?

Which heretic dares stray so far from officially approved expert opinion?

Fauci has spoken favorably about vitamin D in the sense that last year when he was asked a direct question about it he conceded supplementing it would be beneficial — including for COVID purposes — for those who are deficient. He did not specify how much of the population might be deficient and might benefit, but he does apparently count himself among them as he revealed he is himself supplementing:

“If you are deficient in vitamin D, that does have an impact on your susceptibility to infection. So I would not mind recommending, and I do it myself taking vitamin D supplements.”

Then thanks to the Fauci emails leak this JUne, we found out how much he is supplementing exactly:

He is taking 6000 IU every day.

The interesting part is that America’s health authority the NIH — that Fauci’s NIAID itself is a branch of — recommends no more than 800 IU per day.

Fauci is not taking 20 percent or even 50 percent more than the recommended dose. He is taking 7.5 times more!

It has been drilled into us for a year and a half now that health authorities have a line straight to god and we must hinge onto every one of their infallible words. That anyone dissenting from their wise, expert pronouncements must be some kind of a neanderthal, science-denying, MAGAtard —— yet here we have none other than Anthony Fauci supplementing with SEVEN TIMES the cholecalciferol his employer deems safe (for the rest of us).

If Fauci — who draws their paycheck — dares think for himself (at least when his own health is on the line), shouldn’t we?

 


P.S.: Indicentally Fauci isn’t wrong to buck the official US supplements health authorities. 800 is laughable. 6000 is okay, but so is 10000. Even more than that is safe initially when you’re deficient and building up to normal levels. But it’s critical that it’s taken with plenty of K2 to ensure all the extra calcium you will be absorbing goes into your bones, not your joints soft tissue, or you will be giving yourself pseudo-gout.

    He doesn’t even know that vitamin D3 is toxic to our digestive systems.
    In nature, our food any food the vitamin is in D2 form.
    If you want D3 get some sunlight, no it won’t give you cancer but your sunblock just might?

        D3 is to be obtained through sunlight or some type of light.

    I’m not sure if you guys have any idea about D3. To get you started get your D3 test. It’s called 25(OH) D3 test. If it’s below 40 take supplements. Do you know safe daily intake level? 10,000 IU. Do you know how much can you get from the sun exposure on a sunny day? 20,000 IU to save you time searching. There is research that 200,000 IU daily taken for a month does not have adverse effects. Raptar Driver – you’re a moron.
