“We Expect You to Follow Basic Diplomatic Etiquette” — The Chinese Unload on Blinken After He Opens Summit With a Virtue Lecture

You'll invite someone over in order to talk smack to them for the cameras?

Yang Jiechi is the foreign policy chief of an economic hyperpower. Not a schoolchild sent to the principal’s office

The first high-level talks between the U.S. and China since President Joe Biden took office descended immediately into bickering and recriminations, with each side sharply criticizing the other over human rights, trade and international alliances.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken began his remarks at the meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, by vowing to raise concerns about recent cyber attacks, the treatment of Muslim minorities in Xinjiang and Beijing’s increasing control over Hong Kong. He said China’s actions threatened the international order and human rights.

“The alternative to a rules-based order is a world in which might makes right and winner takes all and that would be a far more violent and unstable world,” Blinken said.

The Chinese fired back. Yang Jiechi, a member of the Politburo, offered a lengthy monologue in which he said Western nations don’t represent global public opinion and called the U.S. the “champion” of cyber-attacks.

“Many people within the United States actually have little confidence in the democracy of the United States,” he said, citing the killing of Black Americans and the Black Lives Matter movement. Near the end of his opening remarks, he said Blinken’s comments weren’t “normal” and added that in response “mine aren’t either.”

Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan responded, with Sullivan saying “a confident country is able to look hard at its own shortcomings and constantly seek to improve, and that is the secret sauce of America.”

Things only got worse from there. Cameras were ushered from the room, only to be called back in. Yang and Foreign Minister Wang Yi took the opportunity to follow up with even more criticism.

“Is that the way you had hoped to conduct this dialogue?” Yang asked, according to his delegation’s translator. “I think we thought too well of the United States. The United States isn’t qualified to speak to China from a position of strength.”

In a recent speech, Xi outlined China’s roadmap for the global multipolar future as shown here:

    https://viableopposition.blogspot.com/2021/01/chinas-roadmap-for-new-multipolar.html

Unfortunately, Washington seems incapable of realizing that their “day in the sun” is setting.

On the contrary, Sally, I believe they are very much aware of this FACT. However, i believe their total inability to stop the runaway freight train is causing them severe consternation. There are no more “HOW TO” chapters left in the book, and repeating chapters that have lead to failure is pointless, but that’s all they have. Americans have never been very good at this stuff, because when confronted with intellectual reality, they have always responded with Bombs and guns. This time around, doing so would spell the end of America for good. Not a bad thing, IMHO.

Both country’s are gaslighting their populations in order to generate the hate that will be needed in a war between them.

Minorities in the US are not mistreated but in reality get preferential treatment at every level. As for Killing Blacks,,, the stats put a quick end to that theory if anyone cares to look.

I imagine the US is putting out bs about the Chinese mistreating minorities in the same manner. The US government is unhappy because it gave its manufacturing to China and China took the ball and ran with it and is now a manufacturing powerhouse and on par militarily with the US,,, if not ahead.

China is spot on where America’s wars around the planet are concerned while China uses Americas old method of control. See the book Confessions of an Economic Hitman.

The US is weak and getting weaker by the day. It has now declared war on its own citizens. Same goes for its allies. The West is destroying itself with the fakedemic and its monetary expansion (inflation). Its people have few skills and are now fully dependent upon government for every little thing. For this reason the heyday of the empire can never return.

China is strong and getting stronger everyday using the wealth from Americas addiction to its manufacturing. Its people are highly skilled and actually becoming less dependent on government. Of course history shows this won’t last but for now it is a great advantage.

A conventional war with China will devastate the US both militarily and civilly. The US,,, West,,, produces almost nothing of what it uses. The US military is in shambles with its new woke social experiments. It’s equipment is poorly engineered. Much of its supplies comes from China and Asia in general.

With Chinese present production capability along with Russian Engineering the US is not in a enviable position at this precise moment.

I would highly suggest a regroup and rethink on the part of the US.

The sooner the “rest of the World” disengages from using the Petro dollar (USD), the sooner the US can re-organize and focus on it’s own people and country. That is the #1 job of the government and this is where the US has failed miserably since 1980 compared with China.

And the US is putting out “typical” propaganda regarding China’s mistreatment of minorities.

You don’t have to dig deep to realize this is so untrue because the one child policy in China from 1979 to 2015 was specific to the Han majority. All minorities were NOT restricted.

Quote, “The sooner the “rest of the World” disengages from using the Petro dollar (USD), the sooner the US can re-organize and focus on it’s own people and country. “ Unquote. L.O.L. keep on dreaming Ron, since when has ANY U.S. Government given a stuff about it’s people ??? Also the propoganda regarding the Uyghurs, does not tell you, they are AMERICAN N.E.D. sponsored terrorists which have murdered thousands of Chinese at the behest of, guess who ???

When your talking of the “West” as in “The West is destroying itself with the fakedemic and its monetary expansion (inflation). Its people have few skills and are now fully dependent upon government for every little thing.” You need to be more specific. As your statement does not, in any way, apply to my country. Similarly, your claim of “Its people are highly skilled and actually becoming less dependent on government. Of course history shows this won’t last but for now it is a great advantage.” Is also way out of the ballpark. You need to give us examples of when such an allegation occured in your history, one thing’s for sure. In that case, you can’t be talking of the U.S. L.O.L. I do agree whole heartedly though, with your last sentence. However, it will never happen, as the meeting in Alaska has just proven American Government is totally lost, an has no idea how to proceed from hereon in.

A good week, the US has been schooled not only by Putin but also by the Chinese who took baby Blinken, spanked his botty, put a diaper on him and sat him down with a dummy in his mouth. Seems to me this is a coordinated policy from both RF and China. Rules based order? No thanks say both and from now on Russia will deal with America only on issues which it seeks to and in a way that will benefit Russia. Biden got a big fat zero from.his tough guy approach

People need to check out this article when talking of so called Rules Based Order :Quad lacks moral authority in South China Sea
      https://asiatimes.com/2021/03/quad-lacks-moral-authority-in-south-china-sea/
Turns out the U.S. is not even signatory to any of the agreements covering this issue. Yet, just like the issue with Iran and it’s nuclear development agreement from which it withdrew, they still want to be top dog, but refuse to be part of the agreed legal agreements. Clearly, it’s not do what I do, it’s all about do what I tell you to do. L.O.L.
