US Troops Wipe Out a Contingent of Afghan Security Forces With an Airstrike for the Second Time in a Month

For the second time in less than a month, US forces carried out airstrikes “in self defense” in Afghanistan, only to discover that they were actually attacking Afghan security forces. The Wednesday strike ended up wiping out an entire unit, though officials have yet to disclose the exact number of deaths, beyond it apparently being everyone present.
The previous attack saw US ground troops believing they were under fire, and the warplanes attacking police, killing 18. In this case, too, US officials said they believed the troops came under fire, and the airstrikes targeted the Afghan forces, who had been firing machine guns.
Despite all the talk of self defense and US troops being “under effective fire,” officials insist not a single US casualty occurred. US officials expressed “regret” for the deaths of Afghan partners.
Interestingly, however, US spokesman Col. David Butler praised the operation as “extensively planned and coordinated” with the Afghan forces, with an eye toward preventing exactly what ended up happening.
An investigation is promised, but all too often the investigations into incidents like these, where the result was particularly embarrassing, never really publicly end, and the day of the attack ends up the last we hear about it.

The Imperialist States of Amerikastan are the best thing that ever happened to the Taliban.
By mid 2001 the Taliban regime was essentially on life support. They had proved totally inept at ruling, Afghanistan was in severe drought, there was increasing dissension against Mullah Omar, a rebellion – possibly led by Mullah Dadullah – was imminent, and there was no prospect of things improving. The Amerikastani invasion caused the hollow centre of the Taliban to implode, but hurt nothing of the material of the group. The militia troops simply went underground, knowing that time and the endemic hatred of Afghans for foreign invaders was on their side. Equally, Amerikastani hypocrisy and imperialist racism of course played right into the Taliban’s hands. And today the Taliban are national heroes, while the Amerikastanis are the biggest recruiting agent for the Taliban. Every single one of the puppet regime troops murdered by the Amerikastanis had brothers, friends, relatives, who will be out for revenge. In fact the Pashtun code of honour will demand revenge. And the only way of achieving revenge is to….join the Taliban.
For perspective: in the late 1990s the Taliban was a completely Pashtun, and largely Ghilzai Pashtun, force, which was opposed by the Tajik, Uzbek, and Hazara. Today the Taliban even has Tajik, Uzbek, and Hazara members, while the remnants of the Hindu and Sikh minorities sigh nostalgically for the safety and protection that they had enjoyed during the time of the rule of the Taliban.
You couldn’t make this up if you tried, could you?
These “exceptional” Americans really are a world class fighting force…on par with the child murdering scum from the “most moral army” occupying Palestine ….and they have the audacity and temerity to believe they could fight a war with Iran, Russia or China , what a bunch of cretins !
