US Says Time to Ban Mint Cigarettes Because Blacks, Gays Like Using Them

Back in the bad old days, the major impetus for the US to start banning recreational drugs one by one was provided by the fact that blacks were having way too much fun with them:
The dubious distinction of America’s first drug czar belongs to a man few know anything about: a career government official named Harry Anslinger, who had taken over the Bureau of Prohibition just as the ill-fated ban on booze was ending. To get a more precise understanding of the machinations of Anslinger’s anti-drug blitzkrieg, one must only become acquainted with his bizarre statements on the correlation between drugs and minorities.
“There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the U.S., and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos and entertainers,” he once said. “Their Satanic music, Jazz and Swing result from marijuana use. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers and any others.
“Reefer,” he declared on another occasion, “makes darkies think they’re as good as white men.”
So glad the US has gotten its shit together since, and that victimless black recreation is no longer targeted.
Citing several studies on menthol’s adverse effects, acting FDA commissioner Janet Woodcock said outlawing the flavour could “help save lives” and “address health disparities experienced by communities of colour, low-income populations, and LGBTQ+ individuals, all of whom are far more likely to use these tobacco products”.
Ooops!
Time to ban mint cigarettes because that is what blacks and LGBTS like to smoke!
Only this time it’s not because their fun will help them corrupt and steal white women, but because they’re too stupid to make their own decisions!
Their chosen balance of recreational outcomes and health outcomes is not to our liking! They are opting to have more good time with mints, and less stellar health, and we can not have that! Their bodies belong to us after all! (Who transported them here anyway??)
So there you go whitey, once you’re done washing the blacks’ feet, come over here and help ban their favorite mint cigarettes because that shouldn’t be in the range of the choices they get to make.
Next: banning gay sex because it leads to poorer health outcomes for gays. If they only just stuck to normal sex!

The “American Dream” the promised utopia, it was never realized. Now it is time to wake up and join reality.
I could be misinterpreting this, but somehow banning or shunning a particular thing (A) just because a particular group (B) uses/likes it, regardless of thing A’s impact* on society in of itself and the magnitude thereof, comes off as an association fallacy to me. If group B didn’t exist, let alone use/like thing A to the degree that it does, would there be the same amount of pressure to ban/shun thing A?
(*This is not to diminish the potentially harmful effects of thing A – if it were indeed harmful, then that would be a valid reason to ban/shun it.)
What a world we live in where, in a similar light, some decide to vote for a particular candidate with the sole intention of offending a significant other without putting much thought into that candidate’s inherent strengths or weaknesses, notwithstanding the fact that said ‘other’ will indeed be offended either way.
