Australians and Kiwis are looking at the very real possibility of being shut off from the rest of the world for at least another year.

The two countries, often touted by the media and the “public health expert” class as a COVID-19 response success story (and described by the likes of Dr. Anthony Fauci as countries that the United States should model their response after), may remain closed off from the rest of the world until 2022.

In a conversation with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation on Monday, Aussie Department of Health Secretary Brendan Murphy, the country’s top health official, revealed: “I think that we’ll go most of this year with still substantial border restrictions.”

Murphy explained that this is because they don’t know enough about the vaccine, so they’re going to play it safe and continue the self-destructive self-siege indefinitely.

“Even if we have a lot of the population vaccinated, we don’t know whether that will prevent transmission of the virus,” he added.

As for the mandatory 14 day quarantine facilities for Australian returnees (who pay for the lockdown “quarantine hotels” at their own expense), Murphy explained that this policy would continue “for some time.”

Australia closed its borders to non-residents on March 20, 2020. Aussies might be able to visit only New Zealand at some point in 2021, but they may still be subject to 14 day stays in mandatory quarantine facilities on either or both sides of their outbound and return trips. Qantas, Australia’s biggest airline, remains hopeful of the possibility that it will be allowed to return to partial operations in late summer or fall.

Australia and New Zealand have had arguably the most brutal lockdowns in the world.

When Australia faces a new round of inevitable COVID-19 outbreaks, states often quickly transform into full-fledged police states, and immediately strip all citizens of their fundamental rights, rationalizing the decision because it’s necessary to “slow the spread” or “stamp out” COVID-19. In Melbourne, for instance, citizens were not allowed more than a few miles from their homes, and could only leave their house to exercise, and only for a maximum of one hour a day.

New Zealand also appears to be headed in the indefinite self-siege direction, with politicians now openly conceding that the nation will probably not open up for business or outbound or inbound travel until at least 2022.

New Zealand has even worse draconian policies than Australia. Citizens who test positive for COVID-19 are forcibly removed, if necessary, into military-guarded quarantine camps, to deal with COVID-19 outbreaks. The country also locks down entirely in the event of a single new outbreak of the disease, which has a 99.8% recovery rate. The country’s leaders are “optimistic” that they will begin their vaccination program at some point in the middle of 2021. New Zealand’s self-siege has caused entire sectors of its economy to indefinitely collapse.

Still, many American “public health experts” have urged legislators to adopt the Australia and New Zealand rights-restricting model for “stopping the spread. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the long time government health bureaucrat, has applauded Australia and New Zealand, claiming they have “done quite well” in their draconian policy response to COVID-19.

At the moment, citizens and permanent residents are not permitted to leave the country unless they apply for an exemption and must meet at least one of the following:

  • travel is as part of the response to the COVID-19 outbreak, including the provision of aid
  • travel is for your business/employer
  • you are travelling to receive urgent medical treatment that is not available in Australia
  • you are travelling outside Australia for three months or longer
  • you are travelling on compassionate or humanitarian grounds
  • travel is in the national interest.

    Obviously they’re saying the fake vaccine doesn’t work to eliminate the virus,,, does one have to wonder what it really does? I don’t think so, Tim. So you want to risk your life to take a shot and get no gain whatsoever!

      No mate, you’re spot on! When I look at the morons falling in line to act and take these sadistic governmental dictates, I wonder what has happened to Australians and how on earth the country would survive if it was invaded. I’d say it wouldn’t last half a week.

        What happened to Australians? It began with sacrificing your best, and brightest in the Empires contrived wars, and ended when the left took over your education system. Now you’ve allowed them to disarm you, and you have no way to fight back. The U$ will most likely go the same way.

      The vaccine cannot wipe out COVID, because then COVID cannot be around forever – as more and more ‘public-health experts’ are coyly proposing it will be – to frighten the old and the gullible out of their wits and invest fairly minor public-service roles with tremendous executive power.

      Look at it dispassionately; first you were told you should wear a mask, because sputum and chunks of infected snot spread when a sick person coughed or sneezed spread the infection. At that time, even the Most Famous Doctor In The World, Dr. Fauci, claimed there was no reason at all for a person who was not sick to wear a mask. But not enough of the population was terrified enough to wear masks just because it was suggested they do, so something had to be invented that made masking the law – asymptomatic transmission. We just can’t take the chance, because people who appear to be completely healthy are spreading the virus. Asymptomatic transmission has been assessed, in study after study, to be a very low risk and not a significant driver of the pandemic. So they had to up the ante one more – presymptomatic transmission. You don’t show any symptoms…but you’re going to, any minute.

      So it is unsurprising that it would be the same dodge with the vaccine. Redefining ‘herd immunity’ so that it appeared it was only achievable through vaccination was an attempt to push more people toward vaccination, but it isn’t working very well. So the backstory is developing that COVID is never going to go away. Everyone must take the vaccine, because if even one person is allowed to refuse it, that person could quickly re-infect the whole country. Well, of course there will be a few people who cannot take the vaccine for various justifiable reasons – those persons will have to be isolated from society to the extent it is possible, and otherwise will have to wear a mask and socially distance…forever. Think I’m exaggerating. Read it and weep.

    Serves them right – their dick airline, Qantas, announced months ago, before anyone else was even thinking about it, that international travelers would have to prove they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 before they could get on one of their planes. I wouldn’t fly Qantas if it was free.
