The Melbourne Syndrome

"Feelings of trust or affection felt during a lockdown by its victims towards their most authoritarian political leaders"

“I therefore believe Melbourne should have the “honour” of bearing the name of this widely observed form of political insanity”

The Covid pandemic has brought on our modern version of The Stockholm Syndrome which you will recall is: “Feelings of trust or affection felt in many cases of kidnapping or hostage-taking by a victim towards a captor.”

We now have the Melbourne Syndrome, which I come across versions of every day:

Feelings of trust or affection felt during a lockdown by its victims towards their most authoritarian political leaders.

Now why should it be the “Melbourne” syndrome? There are plenty of places similar where you find such attitudes. It should be called the “Melbourne” Syndrome because Melbourne has now implemented the hardest and longest lockdown at the hands of one of the most far-left and incompetent political leaders in the world, a leader who nevertheless retains high approval ratings, within a state in which the coronavirus issue went from benign to statistically explosive (although the death rate is still near invisible at something like 0.002% per head of population).

I therefore believe Melbourne should have the “honour” of bearing the name of this widely observed form of political insanity. Others are welcome to suggest alternative places and names.

And not only do we have the hardest lockdown possibly anywhere in the world, we also have the most incompetent leadership since unlike virtually everywhere else. Following the initial peak, things in Melbourne managed to get far worse whereas the norm everywhere else, including the rest of Australia, was for conditions to have improved. And let me provide a reminder of what we are being asked to endure.

These were “the Stage 4 Lockdowns” that were put in place by the Victorian Government at the start of August when out of nowhere there was a large statistical increase in the number of cases although trivially small relative to the size of the population. Melbourne by the way is the capital city of the state of Victoria.

  • The “state of emergency” in Victoria has been upgraded to a “state of disaster,” meaning police can now enter your home to carry out spot checks even if you don’t give them permission and they don’t have a warrant.
  • Between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., you’re not allowed to leave your homes except for work, medical care and caregiving.
  • Outside those hours, you may only leave your home for four reasons: shopping for food and essential items, care and caregiving, daily exercise and work. “We can no longer have people simply out and about for no good reason whatsoever,” said the Premier.
  • Daily exercise can only take place within a 5km radius of your home and cannot last longer than an hour.
  • You cannot exercise in groups of more than two, even if they’re members of the same household.
  • Apart from daily exercise, you are only allowed to leave your home once a day for essential supplies and food.
  • In the whole of Victoria, you cannot buy more than two of certain essential items, including dairy, meat, vegetables, fish and toilet paper.
  •  Schools have closed again, with all Victoria school students returning to remote learning from Wednesday (except for vulnerable children and children of permitted workers). Childcare and kindergarten will be closed from Thursday.
  •  Golf and tennis venues, which were open, have now been closed.
  •  Weddings will no longer be allowed from Thursday, and funerals will be limited to 10 people.
  • Face masks anywhere outside your home have been mandatory for people in metropolitan Melbourne since July 22nd, but that rule has now been extended to the entire state of Victoria.
  •  You cannot have visitors or go to another person’s house unless it is for the purpose of giving or receiving care. However, you can leave your house to visit a person if you are in an “intimate personal relationship” with them, even during curfew hours.
  •  If you have a holiday home or were planning a holiday outside Melbourne, you must nevertheless remain in the city for the next six weeks.
  • The maximum fine for breaching a health order currently stands at $1,652.

They have all been extended to September 28, with strict timeline in place concerning the basic right to have people over to your own house. That happens in late November. All this is due to the “modelling,” according to Dan Andrews.

Are people upset by these restrictions? The figures below are for Australia as a whole. Will get to Victoria in a moment.

As for the nature of the statistical collections, this is the Chief Medical Officer of Victoria specifically stating that to be classified as a Covid death only requires that the virus was present, not that it had been the actual cause of the fatality.

With this kind of approach, you could turn any common sickness into a statistical killer. Think of this as well, which is the first of the comments on the video.

I am a provider. One of my patients admitted herself into hospice d/t kidney failure and tested negative for “COVID.” When she died, they put on the death certificate death d/t “COVID.” We are in the early stages of a democide. This is what it feels like to have the governments force you to live in and breathe nonsense. War is peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength and 2+2=5.

And are the numbers in Victoria exaggerated. Here are some stats for Victoria versus the rest of Australia that were published the other day. Victoria has around a quarter of the country’s population.

New Cases Australia – 25,205
New Cases Victoria – 18,608
New Cases Outside Victoria – 6,597
Recent Deaths Australia – 156
Recent Deaths Victoria – 14
Recent Deaths Outside Victoria – 7
Total Deaths Australia – 549
Total Deaths Victoria – 462
Total Deaths Outside Victoria – 87

So this is where we are:

[The Premier] said restrictions would be in place until next year if Victorians didn’t adhere to them and case numbers didn’t decrease.

“It won’t be a 6-week strategy, it will be much longer,” he said.

“We will be into 2021 with significant lockdowns in place.”

And do people resent this fantastic intrusion on their lives? Do they feel the heel of the state and wish to see it lifted? Here are the results of a poll of Victorians over whether they support the measures that have been taken:

The lockdown might be draconian, but Victorians overwhelmingly support the public health restrictions imposed to curb the second wave of coronavirus infections…. New research shows 72% of the sample backs the decision of the Victorian government to impose a curfew between 8pm and 5am, 71% supports curbs on leaving the house, while 70% endorse restrictions on business and the requirement that people travel no further than 5km from their house.

It’s the Melbourne Syndrome all right, unless someone can come up with an example even more absurd yet with the kind of wide support as we find in Melbourne, which used to be and was for many years the World’s Most Liveable City. Well we do still have very nice parks and restaurants, if only we were allowed to visit them, or our children, or our friends, or sit in a cafe, or go to the movies, or just to walk along the street or the beach more than a couple of miles from our home.

Really, is there anywhere else to compare with this? It is one of many such emails that have been sent to me from friends and family around the world who have found Melbourne mentioned in the local news. Melbourne does however stand well out from the pack.

You can therefore still see traces here in Australia’s origins as a penal colony.

…..at the hands of one of the most far-left and incompetent political leaders in the world…

Lets nip that in the bud.

There’s nothing even remotely far left about the present Victorian premier Daniel Andrews.

Just like the US government is a duopoly – AU also has a duopoly and there is nothing particularly far left about this.

To suggest that Daniel Andrews is far left is a display of political ignorance.

Far Left can be described by Socialism or Communism – Andrews is neither, his policies fit the description of a far right NeoLiberal politician…like a glove!

Remember Tony Blair was England’s Labor prime minister who was even more right winged than his predecessor John Majors who was a confirmed Tory.

Duopolies are all over the WEST aka Washington’s Economically Submissive Territories.

The yanks aren’t our bosses. We’ve both got the same bosses. It is just that Dan Andrews is the sort of boot-licking fag who when told to jump, asks How high sir? … then he tries to exceed that in hopes of extra brownie points. That is irrelevant to the article anyway.

That doesn’t explain why Victorians are so happy about the abominable and really crazy demands of them. A pack of serfs. Yet I doubt there’ll be much more anywhere else. Aussies are already so docile and easily conned. They’d rather turn on each other and use what bit of power they have over non-compliers than stand against the tyrants. The pigs are happy because at least it is them busting heads they figure and not the other way around. Too stupid to realise what they’re doing or where it might lead.

The only chance this country has is the class action lawsuit I have just joined and which is aiming at Canberra directly and Andrews and the other lick-spittle premiers same time via the High Court of Australia. I urge any other Aussies to get onboard. The more we have the better our chance of being taken seriously and for justice. We’re aiming at the whole thing. The damage to lives, health and economies. The failure to adhere to the laws which specifically relate to pandemics and the response. There’s no attempt to challenge the big lies. namely that there is even a virus or that the vaccine is probably aimed at depopulation by reducing people’s immunity, resistance to cancer and their intelligence but these are the reasons why it is essential everyone who has a brain and survival instincts signs on.

If this doesn’t stop the train headed in our direction then folks it is going to be a long dark night for us all and a handful at most will end up going down fighting and by the time the rest wish they had fought it won’t be possible anymore.

Maybe it is before your time, days when the White Australian Policy existed but the US is the boss in Australian politics then and still are. The only way to remove the yoke is to elect all Independents into Government, throw out the trash Liberal and labor parties whose synonym is “Republicans and democrats”. Regarding Australian Law; you obviously haven’t the faintest idea how the Law in Australia works; a brief rundown, firstly the Courts take and consume your money disguised as ‘fees’, then the lawyers take the rest. Regarding the Judges, they are politically appointed and they will favour the Government regarding any decision that can/could affect sovereignty or security.
Good luck, you will need it.

So why are our restrictions so much less?

      1. Muhammad Abbass says

Andrews is power mad and an overachiever when it is something he can force on others. The rest of Australia isn’t the same. Yet. Here in Western Australia we’ve not had mandatory anything except travel restrictions. The rest has been just them advising us. Only a small fraction of people have bothered with any of it for many months. I personally haven’t missed a day of work or been affected except when some customers had issues getting here due to the city being quarantined a while back. I’ve actually done record business. making and selling the roto-molded kayaks we’re famous for. Sandgropers see social distancing as a euphemism for get out on the water.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought all US states have been handled differently. I agree though we’re not controlled by Washington. Washington too is controlled by the same people who do so here. They’re just not as well known by the general public. AIPAC is a household name there but few Aussies ever heard of AIJAC.

Because our resistance is so much better armed.

        1. Raptar Driver says

This might be true however I don’t see them resisting at all.
One can resist passively simply by not listening to the restrictions. If the majority the population does this the government must back down Or be over thrown.

Let’s see what they do with those arms when the chips are down. Which I’d personally think has already arrived. What I think is going to happen instead, is that you’ll end up shooting each other in a civil war which has been entirely manipulated by the scum you all should have been pointing those thunder sticks at instead. The heavily armed USAns have one major weakness. Which is that they are the most heavily propagandized and jingoistic people on earth. They are as all populations kept in line by an elite minority by use of divide and rule tactics. However in the USA that has been deliberately pushed to further extremes even to the brink of civil war and beyond I have no doubt. A limited civil war which would never arise to a level of lethality to challenge the government, but which culled the most likely combatants from both sides of the societal spectrum they artificially created and maintain. Nobody is ALL Left or ALL Right, yet in the US you are. Even to the point of killing over it.

They can let that play out for a bit, watch and record stuff and then at the point which is most appropriate they come down hard using the awesome military might they have at their disposal and my American cousin, no matter how many guns and a handful of other light weapons you’ve collectively got.

You don’t stand anymore chance against your government than the Afghanis or Iraqis had and I bet you won’t make even a fraction of the showing my brothers did in those places either honestly. They were hard men all along, most Westerners (I am one) are soft and some adjustment will be needed for them to deal. with guerrilla warfare. At best light infantry. So they’ll not be stopped like that. The only thing which would do it is for everyone from both sides who are aiming at each other and willing it to start to collectively recognise they have more in common with each other and that they do both have a collective problem and despite the cops, they’re few in number. The cops won’t stand in your way because to beat one group they need another group to support them. They’re emboldened in their abuses if they have one segment of society giving them encouragement but inclined to back down when they’re surrounded by hostile majority.

          1. disqus_3BrONUAJno says

I mostly agree with all of that. If it is a civil war, the fighting will be between the coasts and the western states that will lead the next secession. Most of those in the latter will be American veterans who finally couldn’t get their own government to obey its own Constitution and will strike out on their own as the free states they originally were under its premises. The American military will have to make their own decisions about recommitting the mistakes that Lincoln’s Union army did, which could wind up with brothers fighting brothers again. If slavery is an issue, it will be the slavery imposed by the federal government on those of the states and their populations, which won’t have lived as chattel slaves. Since the military is largely disarmed domestically, as witnessed by the victims of the shooting at Fort Hood, the fighting will be based on the civilian arsenal, not the military one. It will be a mostly guerilla war and will have strong antigovernment support.
In my part of the country, it has become clear to National Guard commanders that they cannot rely on their commands to confiscate guns from citizens, FWIW.

    1. XRGRSF says

It’s all about the money, and that’s the other reason. If the Western world stays locked down long enough the Banksters will take over just about every real asset. A local example in my area is Boeing Aircraft. The state of Washington forced them to shut down, and when Boeing was nearing bankruptcy allowed them to partially resume production. Boeing was so far gone that they didn’t have sufficient operating capital so they had to go to the usury lenders. Boeing didn’t go to a local bank or even a U$ bank. Boeing went to the IMF, and now the IMF has Boeing in debt forever. It’s the same in the mortgage banking industry. With close to 50% of all real estate loans delinquent the IMF is backing the big banks as they gobble up the small mortgage lenders, and seize their portfolios. However, the big banks will soon be in no better shape than the small banks, and the IMF will control their assets. This is all going on while our dumb as pig poop electorate worries about foot ball season.

It does one well to remember that the Banksters put an Iron Curtain around the Soviet Union, and a Bamboo Curtain around China because they would not submit to the IMF. The Jews will settle for no less than the world as their plantation.
