Russia’s Liberals and Conservatives Have Switched Positions on Government Mega-Crusading Overnight

Do you want to fight the virus of covid in Russia or the virus of Nazism in Ukraine?

Communists are now *joining* United Russia demos

The Corbett Report 1703: Riley Waggaman on Russian Myths vs. Russian Reality

This is a good interview.

Perhaps the best bit:

Russia’s liberals and conservatives have switched positions overnight.

The Russians who were the most against the government’s two-year COVID mind derangement crusade are now the most supportive of its crusade in the Ukraine.

While all the hipster Westernizers who didn’t have the slightest problem with Maoist lockdowns and coerced experimental genetic injections have suddenly discovered that the government is untrustworthy and insane.

Russians trust the army more than the President, and the support for the war is rising:

The first, and so far the only Russian poll to have been taken on the operation itself and published on March 5, shows 84% public support for the army, the highest level ever recorded; and 71% approval for the operation in the Ukraine. Disapproval was reported by one in five Russians, 21%.  The poll was taken by telephone last week, and was published by the All-Russian Centre for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) on March 5.

Is the QR- Code System still implemented in Russia?
If yes, I guess Putin went along with it, in preparing the Polulace for Economic Sanctions & Recession.
On the other hand, he backed out of this NWO Agenda, when he realised: West is not gonna approve its own sputnik Quackcine- as opposed to China’ s Sinovac, Sinopharm & Co.- so he figured, Russia would have been tried to be isolated by the West economically, either way.
He spoke many times publicy about this coming.
So, at least he deactivates the ticking time bomb that is Ukraine; if was going to be sanctioned, anyway.

I want to defend Putin on this, but it seems that he rolled over to pro-vax elements.

QR code has been cancelled, last week. No restrictions beyond what you feel is personally adequate for you.

I agree – nothing is mandatory in Crimea , unless – say the supermarket still wants you to put a mask on when you go checkout at the cashier, which was funny . Walk around the store without a mask but put one on at checkout – lol Maybe they didn’t want the money to get corona.

If there is a sizeable segment of Russians who: (A) oppose vaccines and (B) support the war … wouldn’t that signal wholly consistent opposition to the West ?

    1. JSS says

Yes it’s obvious that opposition to the flu BS and supporting the war are totally consistent for Russians that are anti-Western and being pro vaccine and wanting to let Ukraine become an American colony are consistent liberal positions. The Antiwar writers are just doing mental gymnastics trying to make it seem like people who are anti Covid ought to also oppose Russia dealing with the threat of NATO/American expansion into Ukraine.

Legitimate opposition people in Russia who are normally anti Putin/United Russia are behind the Army right now. By legitimate opposition I mean people that aren’t Navalny style liberals/Europhiles or moronic neo nazis. If for example you look over the VK pages of nazibols or nationalist pages that are typically very anti United Russia and opposed to flu BS you will find almost uniform support for the war. If anything the war is dividing up who are the real and fake opposition in Russia.

Anyway antiempire is trying to have its cake and eat it as well. They want to point and smirk at Russians who are anti Covid siding with the government on the war but we can point and smirk at them wanting to be anti Covid but siding with Navalny on the war.

      1. Geraldo says

No waaaay? Nobody sides with Navalny apart from 12 year olds and the Sobchakesque oligarchs who enjoy flying to new york for lunch and back in the same day. Navalny is a narc, he has never, ever had percentage support beyond the margin of error (and this guy has been on the dollar for 15 years non stop) Even if he gets out of jail and doen’t do a runner to the wailing wall in Europe (with tikhanovskaya, Khordakovskii, Guaido and Browder) nobody will be interested past what he already got.
Liberalism has never seriously taken hold in Russia, its just a fact, Russians will buy your iphones, Mercedes, Louboutin and Chanel all day long but they aint going to buy western culture, its too materialistic, godless, meaningless, fake empty BS, so the hip Moscovites might like it a bit (in between having ‘mental health’ issues and needing safe spaces) but outside of that, nah! Not gonna happen especially now they know NATO was planning nukes in Ukraine all along and the discovery of US biowarfare labs … it aint a good look for liberalism, democracy and, uh, freedom? Russia is being pushed into this one to the death, the weak can piss off to Europe if they wish, for the rest it is existential now. It is only the west that think its about Putin, Russians think its about Russia. Massive miscalculations by the US Russophobes in the Whitehouse (and the self hating Russian Russophobes) and the vassal EU states.

John Helmer has a larger breakdown which is quite informative.
