Rand Paul Ridicules Mask-Wearing as ‘All About Submission’ to Government

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul said “no science” is able to corroborate mask mandates across the country, warning Americans that “submission” is the real aim of public health officials.

The Republican senator on Saturday reiterated remarks he made to Fox Business Thursday that “there’s no science to keeping schools closed, and there’s actually no good science to keeping restaurants closed, in fact there’s no good science that anything we’ve done has changed the trajectory” of the pandemic.

Speaking with Breitbart News at the Turning Point USA convention—a gathering of young conservatives—in West Palm Beach, Florida, Paul said minor health precautions as simple as washing one’s hands and keeping socially distant have made “no difference” in slowing the spread of coronavirus.

Paul, who practiced ophthalmology for 18 years before becoming a senator in 2010, ridiculed government mandates and just about any other public health measure taken since the start of the pandemic in March. Previous reports have noted that Paul’s medical certification is contested by some national ophthalmology board members.

He warned young Americans their high school graduation ceremonies and possibly their 10-year wedding anniversaries a decade from now will be banned by the government if “we’re not careful” to protect our individual freedoms today.

“Every one of the mandates—and you look in country after country, state after state — you look at when the mask mandates went in—the incidents went up exponentially after the mandates. Restaurants, nobody can eat in a restaurant, there’s no science behind any of that,” Paul told Breitbart’s editor-in-chief, who mocked masks as “face diapers.”

Regardless of Paul’s remarks, the federal government that employs him does not agree with his anti-mask sentiment. “Wearing a cloth face mask, practicing social distancing, and washing your hands are good practices that help protect us and our neighbors from COVID-19 as our economy reopens,” the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) tells Americans in a statement issued this summer. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has also put out similar warnings to health-conscious citizens looking to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Paul embraced the Breitbart editor’s mockery of wearing masks, noting later in the interview, “It’s like wearing your underwear. You might as well cut your underwear up and wear your underwear as protection. It doesn’t work.”

“None of it really makes any sense, and there’s no epidemiological evidence. You know, it’s like, ‘Wash your hands, stand six feet apart,'” Paul continued. “There’s no evidence that that slowed down the [spread]. The trajectory of the virus hasn’t been altered at all by any of these things.”

So, calling is a face diaper is mockery…. how about calling it what it really is? A Holy Rag since we are discussing what has become a cult. Years ago, with much more intelligent people had something called a handkerchief which sufficed in reducing the spray of a cough or sneeze.

What we have today is mindless bots of the Jim Jones era and the kool aid is the experimental concoction they want to inject.

Normally I could care less is they want to look and act stupid but the problem with a cult is they want to force everyone into their church.

Asians wear masks and their COVID control is very good. I remember reading a story about an Australian woman who came to China and decided to go on a run without a mask, the police arrested here and she was deported.
Until the election the majority of Trump supporters did not wear masks.

”A German court has recently ruled that unequivocal scientific evidence shows that wearing masks for long periods of time causes significant brain damage, via oxygen deprivation and carbon dioxide poisoning. Yet the UK government continues to mandate mask wearing in all public settings, including schools and universities, when there is no evidence of any benefit derived from mandating that they be worn”.

The proof is in the pudding:

Hong Kong 8.5 k infections and 136 deaths

Therefore what we have here according to the court ruling is that there are over 2billion Asians with “ oxygen depravation and brain damage” containing the ravages of the pandemic.

In the meantime societies that feel burdened by wearing masks show the following numbers:

US 19 million infections and 332k deaths

Germany 1.65 million infections and. 29.46k deaths

France. 2.55 million infections and 62.5k deaths

England. 1.94 million infections and 61.4K deaths.

So why would wearing the Holy Rag prevent infection when many,,, many studies have shown it pretty much useless in this regard.

The problem with wearing these rags is they will cause the wearer to re-inhale exhaled CO2 and assorted virus particles and other unwanted biologics. Bacterial pneumonia cases are picking up because of these rags.

The decreased oxygen along with the increased CO2 causes brain damage. It’s a slow process and goes unnoticed for awhile,,, worse there is no going back. Brain cells do not replace themselves.

If you can point out to a study done prior to 2019 then I will be happy to concede. Prior to 2019 because of all the BS thrown out about this alleged virus from 2020 forward.

If you can prove this virus actually exists I’d like to hear it. Even the CDC and WHO openly admit they have never laid eyes on it. So explain how they can conjure up a vaccine without the knowledge of the virus makeup.

Why you would expect anyone including yourself to take a vaccine concocted in about 30 days and only tested for about six months and only on super healthy people is disturbing. Over 50 years of failing to come up with a vaccine for the common cold which is a coronavirus should be of concern to any intelligent person.

Likewise, there are conditions that increase the stability of the molecule. Both CV/IF survive longer under colder conditions. This is probably one reason why they tend to favor winter months and colder climates.

We know that certain types of surfaces can make it more stable. For example, CV has good stability on plastic (1/2 life of almost 8 hours) and has even been detected up to one week on surgical masks. Some types of metals, such as copper, can speed up decomposition and some metals lend stability (such as stainless steel).

Skin can actually be good at destabilizing because of not only sweat but also the natural oils and detergents that are produced in the skin can break apart these types of molecules. That is a reason that skin absorption is not considered a vector of infection. Serious breaks in the skin, however, such as from burns or injuries, could lead to infection due to the decreased natural inhibition.

Nonpharmaceutical Measures for Pandemic Influenza in Nonhealthcare Settings—Personal Protective and Environmental Measures
          https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/5/19-0994_article

In our systematic review, we identified 10 RCTs that reported estimates of the effectiveness of face masks in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infections in the community from literature published during 1946–July 27, 2018. In pooled analysis, we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks (RR 0.78, 95% CI 0.51–1.20; I2 = 30%, p = 0.25) (Figure 2). One study evaluated the use of masks among pilgrims from Australia during the Hajj pilgrimage and reported no major difference in the risk for laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infection in the control or mask group (33). Two studies in university settings assessed the effectiveness of face masks for primary protection by monitoring the incidence of laboratory-confirmed influenza among student hall residents for 5 months (9,10). The overall reduction in ILI or laboratory-confirmed influenza cases in the face mask group was not significant in either studies (9,10). Study designs in the 7 household studies were slightly different: 1 study provided face masks and P2 respirators for household contacts only (34), another study evaluated face mask use as a source control for infected persons only (35), and the remaining studies provided masks for the infected persons as well as their close contacts (11–13,15,17). None of the household studies reported a significant reduction in secondary laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infections in the face mask group (11–13,15,17,34,35). Most studies were underpowered because of limited sample size, and some studies also reported suboptimal adherence in the face mask group.

Disposable medical masks (also known as surgical masks) are loose-fitting devices that were designed to be worn by medical personnel to protect accidental contamination of patient wounds, and to protect the wearer against splashes or sprays of bodily fluids (36). There is limited evidence for their effectiveness in preventing influenza virus transmission either when worn by the infected person for source control or when worn by uninfected persons to reduce exposure. Our systematic review found no significant effect of face masks on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza.

Masking lack of evidence with politics
          https://www.cebm.net/covid-19/masking-lack-of-evidence-with-politics/

It would appear that despite two decades of pandemic preparedness, there is considerable uncertainty as to the value of wearing masks. For instance, high rates of infection with cloth masks could be due to harms caused by cloth masks, or benefits of medical masks. The numerous systematic reviews that have been recently published all include the same evidence base so unsurprisingly broadly reach the same conclusions. However, recent reviews using lower quality evidence found masks to be effective.

Rapid Expert Consultation on the Effectiveness of Fabric Masks for the COVID-19 Pandemic
          https://www.nap.edu/read/25776/chapter/1

The evidence from these laboratory filtration studies suggests that such fabric masks may reduce the transmission of larger respiratory droplets. There is little evidence regarding the transmission of small aerosolized particulates of the size potentially exhaled by asymptomatic or presymptomatic individuals with COVID-19. The extent of any protection will depend on how the masks are made and used. It will also depend on how mask use affects users’ other precautionary behaviors, including their use of better masks, when those become widely available. Those behavioral effects may undermine or enhance homemade fabric masks’ overall effect on public health. The current level of benefit, if any, is not possible to assess.

Universal Masking in Hospitals in the Covid-19 Era
          https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMp2006372

What is clear, however, is that universal masking alone is not a panacea. A mask will not protect providers caring for a patient with active Covid-19 if it’s not accompanied by meticulous hand hygiene, eye protection, gloves, and a gown. A mask alone will not prevent health care workers with early Covid-19 from contaminating their hands and spreading the virus to patients and colleagues. Focusing on universal masking alone may, paradoxically, lead to more transmission of Covid-19 if it diverts attention from implementing more fundamental infection-control measures.

Physical interventions to interrupt or reduce the spread of respiratory viruses. Part 1 – Face masks, eye protection and person distancing: systematic review and meta-analysis
          https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.30.20047217v2

RESULTS: We included 15 randomised trials investigating the effect of masks (14 trials) in healthcare workers and the general population and of quarantine (1 trial). We found no trials testing eye protection. Compared to no masks there was no reduction of influenza-like illness (ILI) cases (Risk Ratio 0.93, 95%CI 0.83 to 1.05) or influenza (Risk Ratio 0.84, 95%CI 0.61-1.17) for masks in the general population, nor in healthcare workers (Risk Ratio 0.37, 95%CI 0.05 to 2.50). There was no difference between surgical masks and N95 respirators: for ILI (Risk Ratio 0.83, 95%CI 0.63 to 1.08), for influenza (Risk Ratio 1.02, 95%CI 0.73 to 1.43). Harms were poorly reported and limited to discomfort with lower compliance. The only trial testing quarantining workers with household ILI contacts found a reduction in ILI cases, but increased risk of quarantined workers contracting influenza. All trials were conducted during seasonal ILI activity.

CONCLUSIONS: Most included trials had poor design, reporting and sparse events. There was insufficient evidence to provide a recommendation on the use of facial barriers without other measures. We found insufficient evidence for a difference between surgical masks and N95 respirators and limited evidence to support effectiveness of quarantine. Based on observational evidence from the previous SARS epidemic included in the previous version of our Cochrane review we recommend the use of masks combined with other measures.

Mouth and nose protection in public: No evidence of effectiveness
          https://www.thieme-connect.com/products/ejournals/html/10.1055/a-1174-6591

With numerous viral infections, the pathogen excretion begins at the end of the incubation period, i.e. before symptoms of the disease are noticed. This is e.g. B. also known from influenza, which is why one could have assumed this to be the case with COVID-19 at the beginning of the pandemic.

The evaluation of the publications cited by the RKI for its “re-evaluation” of masks in public space shows that there is no scientific basis with which the use of masks (of any kind) in public by almost the entire population of Germany (minus of children up to 6 years of age approx. 80 million people) can be justified, and current studies show the same.

On the contrary, a mask requirement for many millions of people in public spaces can even become a risk of infection because the required hand hygiene cannot be observed.

Indirect pathogen contacts via contaminated surfaces are not reduced by masks, on the contrary, they potentially occur more frequently than without masks.

In the transmission of respiratory viruses, close (<1 m) face-to-face contact plays a decisive role, which must also exist for at least a certain time (≥ 15 min) so that a risk of transmission can even materialize.

On the one hand, most contacts in public spaces are not face-to-face contacts. On the other hand, even if they take place, they usually last less than 15 minutes, so that an effective transmission of infectious droplets seems very unlikely in these situations.

If this isn’t enough evidence for you, I have some forty or fifty other articles and studies on the use of mask that suggests wearing masks may be useless and may even make one more susceptible to infection.

It’s possible because political organizations with financial incentives have re-defined such basic medical terms as “pandemic” and “cases” in order to perpetrate a fraud, a scam.
“Why perpetrate a scam, a fraud?” one might ask. To re-organize the social order.

“Lockdown fanatics have helped manufacture consent for a brutal reorganization of labor that will plunge millions of people into serfdom… Lockdowns were not bungled by incompetent leaders. They were in fact executed perfectly, because their purpose was not public health but rather the rapid installment of a regressive neoliberal agenda designed by the nonprofit industrial complex… We are facing something much darker than a respiratory virus. A great theft is occurring under the pretext of safety. It is not just the theft of working people’s jobs, savings, and property—it is also the theft of a meaningful life… We have a limited window of time to reclaim the things that make life worth living: family, community, cultural heritage, the social sphere, public institutions, common spaces, and free movement.” ~ Alex Gutentag, “The Great Covid Class War”, the bellows, https://www.thebellows.org/the-great-covid-class-war/
              Also from the article:
“This is not an unforced error or a good policy idea implemented poorly. It is an economic agenda disguised as a health protocol.”

“Unemployment, hunger, institutional breakdown, and the destruction of social bonds are not symptoms of a virus. They are the indirect violence of class warfare. The pandemic is a convenient scapegoat for the largest upward wealth transfer in modern human history. Under the pretext of a public health policy, elites have successfully waged a counterrevolution that will result in the erosion of working conditions and quality of life for generations to come.”

“Income is the main determinant of covid mortality.”

This observation about “the main determinant” is true even if “Covid” is the new name for viral pneumonia caused by the common cold, influenza-like illnesses, seasonal flu, other upper and lower respiratory infections, and lung & heart diseases caused by breathing in airborne pollutants.

IMHO, he’s dead right. Wearing of such masks for extended periods raises some issues that are simply ignored. For example, wearing them for hours on end ensures they get WET, SOPPING WET, this effects the materials ability to do what it’s alleged to do, catch the virus particles. It also ignores the FACT, that such particles can also land on any other exposed skin, and stay active there until you take off your mask, brush your effected skin and BINGO. We need to be told, how it is, that medical workers who wear masks and even gowns ect, ect, to allegedly protect them from this virus, still manage to become infected ???? So clearly, the mask story is a load of cobblers. Funny, that where I live, to see such wearing of masks is a very rare occurrence, and my state has been free of internal infection since April this year.
