Pompeo Keeps Lying About What North Korea Has Agreed To, so Pyongyang Wants Him out of Future Talks

Pompeo is incompetent, a bully, out of his depth, and a pathological liar. The North Koreans have said the US must come back with a decent offer to resume talks by year-end clearly implying else they will reconsider the nuclear freeze they instituted as a good will measure last year.

Instead Pompeo took their words and spun them to mean that Kim wants to give up his nuclear weapons by year-end as Pyongyang had supposedly agreed to:

During a speech at Texas A&M on Monday, Pompeo said Kim promised to denuclearize during his first summit with President Donald Trump and that U.S. officials were working with the North Koreans to “chart a path forward so we can get there.”

“He (Kim) said he wanted it done by the end of the year,” Pompeo said. “I’d love to see that done sooner.”

This has been a running theme now by Pompeo, he has been lying for months:

It is difficult to take Pompeo’s assertions seriously when he has made a habit of saying things that everyone knows to be untrue. He has repeatedly referred to the “final, fully verified denuclearization as agreed to by Chairman Kim” when Kim never agreed to any such thing:

Pompeo expects us to take his word for what Kim has told him privately, but his assurances don’t count for very much when we know he has consistently misrepresented Kim’s public position. Supposing that Kim did say something like this to Pompeo, it is very likely that Kim’s idea of denuclearization was and is very different from Pompeo’s. Even if Kim said these things and professed a desire to follow through on them, it doesn’t actually mean that he committed to disarm. More to the point, even if Kim said something to Pompeo it is clear enough that the North Korean government isn’t acting on the things that Pompeo thought he heard.

The North Koreans have finally had enough and have said in future talks they no longer want to deal with America’s #1 diplomat, and an international embarrassment:

North Korea demanded Thursday that Washington remove Secretary of State Mike Pompeo from nuclear negotiations.

In a statement issued under the name of Kwon Jong Gun, director general of the American Affairs Department at Pyongyang’s Foreign Ministry, North Korea accused Pompeo of “talking nonsense” and misrepresenting Kim’s comments.

The North Korean statement said Pompeo was “misrepresenting the meaning of our requirement” for the negotiations to be finalized by the year’s end, and referred to his “talented skill of fabricating stories.” It said Pompeo’s continued participation in the negotiations would ensure that the talks become “entangled” and called for a different counterpart who is “more careful and mature in communicating with us.”

To top it all off the bewildered North Koreans were left wondering if Pompeo was really that insanely dumb or just incapable of telling a truth:

“We cannot be aware of Pompeo’s ulterior motive behind his self-indulgence in reckless remarks; whether he is indeed unable to understand words properly or just pretending on purpose. However, it is a very dangerous situation if he really did not grasp the meaning,” it said, according to Reuters.
