True enough, the plans for the Michigan protest where participants wouldn’t even exit their cars sounded somewhat underwhelming. But to be fair it seems Michigan’s climate is truly awful with snowfall in mid-April so there that. Also in the end a bunch of (photogenic) protesters did also stage a proper protest on foot.
Also, while the turnout so far in Michigan (4000), Ohio (200) and North Carolina (100) may not have been enormous the Americans are showing some spirit, which can not (yet) be said for Europeans.
Thousands of protesters on foot and in vehicles converged Wednesday on Michigan’s capital to rally against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s stay-at-home orders in the state.
“Operation Gridlock,” organized by the Michigan Conservative Coalition, created a huge bumper-to-bumper traffic jam around the Michigan Capitol Building in Lansing, Fox 2 Detroit reported.
Meshawn Maddock, an organizer for the group, said the demonstrators include Republicans, Democrats and independents.
“Quarantine is when you restrict movement of sick people. Tyranny is when you restrict the movement of healthy people,” Maddock told Fox News. “Every person has learned a harsh lesson about social distancing. We don’t need a nanny state to tell people how to be careful.”
The protests had been expected to start at noon, but a line of vehicles stretching for miles began earlier in the morning.
“Operation Gridlock” was just one of many demonstrations planned across the country to push back on the stay-at-home orders, calling on state governments to focus on the economic toll the coronavirus pandemic has caused along with taking care of the sick.
Nearly 17 million Americans have been laid off or furloughed in the past three weeks – or one out of every 10 workers.

This is probably the most insightful article on what we are witnessing that I have read. Hopkins always has a good dose of humor in his essays. That is still here to some extent, but this is more serious than most of his writing.

It is about time that they rise up and fight back against this government decree, but I fear that when the shutdown is lifted or if they manage to get the shutdown lifted, there is going to be very few jobs available. During this shutdown America’s wealth was plundered. No invasion could have done a better job of plundering than this shutdown did.

Whitmer’s overreaching behavior was already established after she attempted to limit doctors from using hydroxycholoroquine for coronavirus treatment last month to score political points against President Trump. But she changed course last week after receiving widespread criticism for the move, and is now asking the federal government for shipments of the drug.

if i am correct the way this works, people mass to demonstrate their displeasure with no work, no pay and are in isolation. next step is for the ptb to put some of their thugs into the crowd and start violence. the media calls them terrorist and the state shows us some shock and awe with their militarized police. there’s blood in the streets and ptb expect the sheeple to go to their knees. what happens next is anybody’s guess. certainly we do live in interesting times.
