Those mutineers were hardcore

Let’s say that you sent a battalion of troops to the frontline to block a superior enemy without adequate leadership, training, artillery support, heavy weapons, or reliable supplies.

Let’s say that this battalion then spent weeks dutifully defending and taking heavy casualties, only falling back without an order after losing something like a third of its complement wounded and killed?

What would such an episode lead you to conclude about the caliber of these men as soldier material? Personally, it would lead me to believe these men are excellent soldier material.

And if they followed up their unauthorized retreat by issuing a public statement in which they openly called out their command for letting them down and vowed to refuse further combat until their demands were met I would conclude that they were also courageous to boot.

Hey pro Jewish supremacist Nazi empire. You are totally pathetic as your racist supremacist global Jewish satanic Judeo Nazi slave empire dictatorship is losing badly on all fronts.

looks like almost the entire 12,000 Ukrainian force wil be destroyed in their stupid counter offensive. The road for Nikolaev, Odessa and Kharkiv is now wide open.

If they succeed, the Russians, can change the flow of the Ukrainian war, eliminated all the spares of the Ukrainian Army and open the road for Nikolaev, Odessa and Kharkiv. According to information, the Ukrainians began the attack in Kherson with 12,000 soldiers. After the first losses, the number might be around 10,000.

Surprise even in… Russia have created maps and information provided in the publicity Russian accounts according to which the Ukrainian forces have penetrated in a large enough depth of occupying the area Kostromka fighting even for the Bruskinskoe.

And yet, the revelation of the WarNews247 a few hours ago, it is confirmed officially by the Russian Army:

In updated maps provided in the publicity, the Russians admit that they lost Sukhyi Stavok, Kostromka consistently carried out, in fierce fighting in the Bruskinskoe. Different maps that you can see at the end of the text, show exactly the same thing.

Therefore, there are two possibilities: Either it is a psychological operations of the Russians, or the Russian forces have retreated to a depth of 30-40 km ambushing the Ukrainians.

They try so at a certain point to film as many as Ukrainian forces about, and then get heavy bombardment by artillery and Aviation.

It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian forces have been shed in the battle, and battle tanks T-64BM2 with the reserve.

The morphology of the soil as well as the fact that the Russians excel in Air cover and artillery in the area favours such a scenario, a Russian ambush.

To update that happened a little while ago, Russian military sources report:

“The Russian troops are fighting back in the accumulations of human resources and equipment of the Ukrainian Army in the northern suburbs of Sukhi Stavοk and Kostromka. The Ukrainians have been driven from the Μπρουσκίνσκι.”!

    When was this Ukrainian advance until Μπρουσκίνσκι;

    Complement:

“Under the secure control of the Ukrainian forces are the areas Ternovi Pody, Andreevka, Lozove, Sukhi Stavοk . Controversial control in Arkhangelsk (confirmed WarNews247 and that’s why this area), Olgino, Vysokopol and Kostromka where fighting is taking place!

In Arkhangelsk, the Russian Armed Forces launched a counter-attack, seeking to recapture the area. The battles are still ongoing”!

Russian analyst: blood Bath – it Looks like the battle of Kursk
The Russian expert Yuriy Podolyaka, notes:

“On August 29, Kiev began the “battle of Cherson”, for which he’s been preparing for several months.

The first day of the fighting showed the readiness of the Russian administration. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation predicted everything and created a real “blood bath” for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Kiev threw what he had here in the battle, including up to two brigades of well-trained infantry, reinforced with tanks. Supported by HIMARS and the artillery. All that was not enough.

The successes of the first day of the counter-attack was very, very pathetic, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was colossal, and all of them seem strongly with the first day of the Battle of Kursk, when the nazi troops were trying to go on the offensive at Kursk, were treated initially with strong fire and then dropped in the strong defense of the Red Army.

The Podolyaka clarified that the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to attack in defence of the Armed Forces of Russia in three places, in the area Davydov Brod, Velyka Aleksandrovka and Vysokopolya, where it was the main hit.

However, by noon it became clear that the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army had stalled. The enemy met with resistance, suffered losses and retreated to the previously occupied lines.

The enemy suffered huge, just colossal losses. Now I can’t say with certainty, but according to the information from my sources, a huge number of bodies of Ukrainian soldiers moved into the area Apostolove. Then transported by trucks to Krivoy Rog. We’re talking about hundreds of people

Video: Attacks with MLRS HIMARS of Ukrainians

The Podolyaka explained that before the beginning of the counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian troops launched a preventive strikes in places where it was concentrated enemy personnel and equipment.

The losses of the Ukrainian army amounted then to several hundred soldiers, and this weakened the aggressive momentum of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the Russian artillery did not stop to put all the time, while the Ukrainian army tried to attack the positions of the Russian Armed Forces.

Several important forces participated in this direction (from the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). To the east of the Vysokopolye, a mechanized brigade, a battalion of tanks, two Regular Battalions with tanks . Slightly smaller forces advanced towards the west, I. e. the main blow was given here. But it was ineffective.

Also, a serious blow was given to the south of the Davydov Brod. In addition, the main task of this blow was to cut off the communications of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and thus to try to overwhelm the whole of the north side of the land Front of the allied forces already on the first day.

The enemy was not enough to proceed only 2-3 km in the area of the settlement Sukhoi Stavok, where it was crashed by the Airborne Forces, which were sent urgently and stopped the enemy, persistent battles are now there. The enemy pressed to the ground, the artillery and the air force are trying constantly and it is obvious that this is the most important blow to the rear of our forces failed also,” he added.

That is, in accordance with the results of the first day of the Ukrainian counter-attack in Kherson, the enemy was able to go several miles in front of one of the areas and to understand a settlement.

At the same time, suffered huge losses in manpower. According to my estimates, not counting the overnight raids in crowded places, only in offensive operations suffered losses of 200-300 people, and between 500 and 600 wounded. For the first day of the counter-attack, the losses are just colossal. Taking into account the fact that the entire team of the Armed Forces of Ukraine consisted of 10-12 thousand people” .

These of course are not consistent with what is leaked by the Russians to the Ukrainian advance in Kostromka.

Maybe you need to talk to some Russians like these:

      https://www.theage.com.au/world/europe/putin-s-failures-exposed-by-the-men-forced-to-fight-his-war-20220829-p5bdi4.html

We know this and much more because the paratrooper, 34-year-old Pavel Filatyev – a professional soldier from a military family – published a 141-page account of his two months in Russia’s 56th Guards Air Assault Regiment at the outset of the invasion of Ukraine.

The 1982 book “Inside the Soviet Army” by V. Suvorov, pretty much prefigured everything in your article. It seems absolutely nothing has changed in forty years – from the Soviet to the Russian Army……

He also says the remaining soldiers of his brigade are scared of 2 things: US MRLS systems and drones. “When Shoigu says that we don’t move quickly because we want to minimize collateral damage, it’s bullshit. Soldiers are exhausted and have no will for another offensive”.

Interesting that Putin fired Sergei Ivanov in 2007 (I think) because the reform of the Russian Army following the massive problems exposed in Chechnya basically wasn’t happening and brought in Anatoliy Serdyukov. Soon after, problems were once again visible during the brief war with Georgia.

According to Philip Short, Serdyukov did make serious reforms and was hated by the Russian general staff for it. In the end, Putin replaced Serdyukov with Sergei Shogun in 2012 with the reforms partially done. Serdyukov wanted to retire a lot more officers, but was not permitted to complete the whole job.

Don’t know what if anything Shoigu has done.

It’s weird how utterly and consistently resistant to change the Soviet/Russian military really is.

  2. Oscar Peterson says

“Putin is addicted to warning Kiev that it needs a bigger and better military. First the 2014 warning and now the 2022 one. In 2013 Ukraine had 5,000 combat-ready troops, when he is done it might have 500,000.”

Yeah, it’s interesting how Putin is, in a way, trapped by his obviously sincere belief that “Ukrainians and Russians are fraternal peoples.” It has compelled him to take a soft, gentle approach and to “use force as a last resort” which makes escalation too predictable.

But this is nothing new. It’s a point that Marko has been making since the war started. In fact, arguably, it’s the only point he ever makes. Now maybe its centrality justifies the repetition.

But what are the options that Russia has now given the larger geo-economic realities and the evident inability of the AFU to conduct a meaningful counteroffensive?

Does he have a palette of branch and sequal plans that he can choose from? Or has he become paralyzed with indecision?

I’ve been reading the new biography of Putin by Philip Short. He claims that somewhere around 2015, Putin’s style of governance changed and that he no longer rode herd on Kadyrov, Sechin and others with his knuckling-under to Kadyrov after the assassination of Nemtsov as the primary exhibit. I assumed that he was willing to make concessions because he could not afford any instability with Chechnya while engaged in the face-off over Ukraine. Is it more than that?

    Putin..lmao

If you are of the opinion that Russia isn’t under the influence of nefarious foreign forces—and maybe it isn’t—then who is calling the shots? And who is ultimately responsible for what happens inside Russia—especially now?
