Erdogan Dares the US to Impose Sanctions, Says Macron Needs a Mental Health Check Up

Family bliss in the NATO family

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan challenged the United States to impose sanctions against his country while also launching a second personal attack Sunday on French President Emmanuel Macron.

Speaking a day after he suggested Macron needed mental health treatment because of his views on Islam and radical Muslims, Erdogan expanded his range to take aim at foreign critics.

“Whatever your sanctions are, don’t be late,” Erdogan said, referring to U.S. warnings for Turkey not to get directly involved in the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, where Ankara supports Azerbaijan against ethnic Armenian forces.

The Turkish leader also mentioned Washington’s threat of sanctions after Turkey tested the Russian-made S-400 air defense system. The purchase has already seen Turkey kicked off the F-35 stealth fighter program.

“We stepped in for the F-35, you threatened us,” Erdogan told a televised ruling party congress in the eastern city of Malatya. “You said, ‘Send the S-400s back to Russia.’ We are not a tribal state. We are Turkey.”

The dispute over the S-400s, which NATO says pose a threat to the military alliance and particularly endanger the technical secrets of the F-35, is among a number of recent disputes between Turkey and some of its NATO allies.

These include gas exploration in the eastern Mediterranean that has threatened a confrontation with Greece, as well as Turkey’s stance in Syria, where it has targeted America’s Kurdish allies.

For months, the U.S. warned Ankara that it risked sanctions under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act if the S-400 system were activated. President Donald Trump, however, has held back on implementing the sanctions amid hopes Erdogan will not go ahead with activating the missiles.

Erdogan also returned to personal insults of Macron, who has been a vocal critic of Turkish foreign policy in recent months.

“The person in charge of France has lost his way,” Erdogan said. “He goes on about Erdogan while in bed and while awake. Look at yourself first and where you’re going. I said yesterday in Kayseri, he is a case and he really must be examined.”

Erdogan also turned his ire to Dutch anti-Islam lawmaker Geert Wilders, whose tweet describing Erdogan as a “terrorist” was given prominence by several senior members of Turkey’s government and ruling party on Sunday.

The president said Turks had been made “targets for uncovering rising racism in Europe.”

He added: “Fascism is not in our book, it is in your book. Nazism happened in your countries.”

Three years ago, Erdogan sparked controversy when he called the Dutch government “Nazi remnants and fascists” over blocks on campaigning among the Netherlands’ Turkish diaspora ahead of a Turkish referendum on enlarging his powers.

Erdogan is the proverbial leech creating a giant sucking sound among Turkey’s white and blue-collar workers.

Yeah. I suspect Erdogan is a sick man – mentally ill. He certainly suffers from delusions of grandeur. I also suspect those delusions are encouraged by Israel, the Saudis, and US and UK intelligence. I’d love to see the US and much of the EU impose sanctions on Turkey. If you’ve decided to use sanctions as a weapon, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Israel are countries that richly deserve them. I can’t think of three better targets for sanctions.

Erdogan is an individual who sees World developments as an opportunity to gain foot holds and prestige for himself and his nation. Let’s face it, we’ve seen the U.S. and it’s Western partners tear up agreements and dispose of them as if they are nothing but toilet paper, which do not apply to them, but only to the other signatory. We’ve seen the same people trash the Geneva Convention, committing one war crime after another and even torturing people to death. We’ve seen innocent people incarcerated under false charges denied lawful hearings and access due to them. But again, the folks doing all this, DEMAND other nations comply to what they eloquently call the International Order and Law, which does not apply to themselves only to the people they target. Is it any wonder, that such an individual such as Erdogan takes a page from their book, and copies their modus operandi to benefit himself and his nation ? I’m very surprised that so far he is the only one doing this, I expect more to come on board and do the same. Then when the Western criminals get caught and imprisoned/tortured ect, watch them scream. holler and howl for the unfairness of it all. L.O.L.

I don’t defend the US and I don’t defend a goddamn NUT like Erdogan. You can’t excuse his behavior. Stop trying.

          1. itchyvet says

Jimmy, from where did you get the idea I was “defending” Erdogan ? What I wrote, was that he’s doing nothing but taking a page from the Western nations, and the U.S. in particular, to his advantage and copying their modus operandum. How can that be construed as “defending” him ?? That would be the same as “defending” the U.S. and it’s sycophant followers, would it not ?

Fair enough. I’m full of hate these days. I can’t shake it, either. I’ve seen too many people hurt in various ways by these mother fucking Big Party elites. Other than a nagging, painful skin condition, I’m better off than most at 63 but goddamn I want my country back. Prior to the’90s, it had problems but it was a better, kinder, more secure place and most people weren’t so goddamn conformist and selfish. I actually mostly dislike my own country now. It makes me just go off, at times.

I recently eradicated a small basal cell carcinoma on my face using a daily application of CBD oil. About ten years ago I had a Mohs procedure for the same reason, that was very painful and very expensive. A skillful Pakistani plastic surgeon sewed the deep wound back up using a staple gun.

            4. Saint Jimmy (Russian American) says

Wow. I had a Mohs procedure for a spot on my leg a few years ago. It worked and they got it all. They aren’t sure what causes my skin condition though. Steroid ointment helps it quite a bit.

            5. Kapricorn4 says

I have blue eyes and when I was younger I had red hair. I have had problems with actinic keratosis, that were actually aggravated by fluorouracil, that I now control using CBD. The problem was likely caused due to overexposure to sunlight as a child, and later on from skiing holidays in the European Alps and the US Rockies.

I’m blue eyed with blond hair. I have a Germanic complexion. I have Czech Moravian, Russian, and German ancestors (from northwestern Germany near the Dutch border). I have northern German skin. Growing up in rural south Texas, I spent a lot of time outdoors in the south Texas sun. As an adult, I travelled about as much as an airline pilot, as my work entailed travel all over the US, Asia, and Mexico. I have a feeling that so much time aloft in airplanes also affected my skin. Stress probably didn’t help, either. It seems as though my condition calms down and is better in cool to cold humid weather. It seems to be aggravated by heat, stress, and nerves. After 38 years, I’m retiring at the end of the year. 🙂 Thinking about it makes me smile. I’m more than ready to go.

Between the ages of thirty and fifty I also traveled a lot by air across the world on business. I was a frequent flyer on Concord 🙂

Contrary to popular opinion, ultra violet light can pass through glass.
When I went for my Mohs procedure that was done the same day in a batch with a dozen other patients, I noticed that everyone had dressings on the left side of their faces. I concluded that their skin had been damaged from driving left hand drive cars.

            10. Saint Jimmy (Russian American) says

Interesting…. Yeah… I’m aware of what ultra-violet light can do.

The Concord…. Wow. Well, I didn’t run in that crowd. I mostly flew business class, especially back and forth across the Pacific. The best flight I ever had was first class on Singapore Airlines from Tokyo to Bangkok back in ’86 or ’87. My goodness, everything was great. The food was fantastic. They offered a great selection of beers, wines, juices, etc. The stewardesses were polite, friendly, and gorgeous. That was an exception, though, as we were required to fly US flag carriers (mostly United out there and American in the US to Hawaii and Mexico). Actually, United in the Pacific and Asia was pretty good back then. That was the one instance when no US flag carrier flights were available and I had to be in Bangkok by a certain date.

I’ve travelled comparatively little for “business” during the last 5 years, or so, as technology has reduced travel requirements and the work has slowed down for the old timer. 🙂 I’m almost considered a relic of a bygone era in my organization. When I talk about the past, now, I almost feel as though I should preface my remarks with “Sit down and let me tell you a story, sonny…”

            11. itchyvet says

Yeah right, Jimmy I understand. However consider you may be manipulated deliberately, to bring about this feeling. From my observations, (even though far away) it seems this is being deliberately orchestrated, as so much hate is very much evident every time a video clip or even just a sound bite is transmitted. My parents, (long gone now) who were born in Germany, regaled us as kids with stories of what they experienced in Germany after WW 1 and prior to WW 2, and would you believe, even without the MSM we have today, they were in exactly the same scenario of hate, that is so evident today in the U.S. Rest assured, you maybe greatly pissed off, but basicly there’s nothing you can do about it to change anything. HATE sucks up energy, energy that you could put to better use, using the knowledge you have at your finger tips, to ensure the effects of this hate is minimised for you and your household. Prepare yourself for the worst, concentrate on that, and allow the haters to go about their business, when the shite hits the fan, they’ll be caught with their pants down, and you will be in a better position.

            12. Saint Jimmy (Russian American) says

🙂 I suspect you’re right. Thanks. I have to keep that in mind.

All of the wailing, moaning, blustering, and threatening the West does about Erdogan yet he stands. I have a feeling that Erdogan is far smarter, and much more cunning than the great Western gods of treachery, and duplicity give him credit for. Russia, and Putin have Erdogan’s measure, but the West doesn’t have a clue.

    1. Saint Jimmy (Russian American) says

The US, UK, and EU elites have a clue about Erdogan. They are using him as a tool for their own selfish ends in the region. See Thomas Malthaus’ post below.

In return for accommodating Syrian refugees via US-led Syria intervention, Erdogan receives Syrian oil with thanks from a grateful nation–the United States.

He does try to leverage the refugee situation by asking for more Euros from Brussels and Berlin. A “stray” 10 or $20 billion from Washington to mitigate the Turkish lira crisis or increase his Switzerland gold holdings, whichever is of critical import.

He won’t soon be extricated from a “neighborly” boundary confrontations with Greece over what else, oil.

Returning to Syria, it would seem the Russian bombing on a terrorist camp straddling the Turkish border, along with the Syrian Army forcing Turkish troops toward Idlib probably signals a denouement.

We could witness Turkey’s final Syrian act before November 3.

Erdogan departure could obviously mean sending Turkish soldiers back to Turkey or onward to Nagorno-Karabakh where he awaits Washington’s orders for escalation.

I sense China could play a strategic role among these intermingled conflicts and it involves dumping USD and as-yet vague ideas on Syrian refugee resettlement within Syria and possibly Iraq, and Iran.

Perhaps a summitt between Chinese President Xi Jinping, Turkish President Tayyrip Erdogan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Depending on one’s perception when the global currencies will reset provide a gauge of the alacrity with which this could or might be achieved.

I doubt its lost among the participants that Israel will have major input. The Zionist world view, if you will. The joint efforts of Iran, China, and Russia’s will be required to kill Israel’s Middle East agenda.
