Why Doesn’t Clown Boris Johnson Send a Destroyer Into Crimea’s Territorial Waters Right About Now?

“Where are you??? Let’s be having you!!”

In the context of an ongoing war scare on the Russian-Ukrainian border Boris Johnson proposes to “stick up” for Ukraine by… having EU regulators not approve a pipeline:

U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged European nations to oppose a new gas pipeline from Russia to Germany…

Speaking to business leaders and diplomats in London as European regulators decide whether to approve the Nord Stream 2 pipeline…

“We hope that our friends may recognize that a choice is shortly coming — between mainlining ever more Russian hydrocarbons in giant new pipelines, and sticking up for Ukraine and championing the cause of peace and stability,” Johnson said in his speech in London. “Let me put it that way.”

The prime minister was speaking at a time when the U.S. is raising the alarm with EU allies that Russia may be weighing a potential invasion of Ukraine as tensions flare between Moscow and the bloc.

Seriously?

This summer, when there wasn’t a war scare, Johnson found it appropriate to order a warship into contested territorial waters claimed by Russia — just off the coast of Sevastopol.

Yet now that there is a war scare Johnsons is talking about…EU regulators and pipelines.

When the Russians were being entirely peaceful Johnson sent a warship into their territory. So now that the Russian military is very active and engaged in masking maneuvers — just as it would be ahead of a military offensive — it would be logical that Johnson, the big man that he is, dispatched at least two warships into their waters.

Instead, now that the Russians look very, very angry Johnson wants to confront them by a phalange of…EU regulators.

Isn’t that a great friend to have? One who’ll provoke someone from behind your back then run away at the first sign of trouble.

Same with the Americans. The US had been shopping the idea of breaching Crimea’s waters to Germany for years. It was probably their suggestion that Johnson do it since Merkel wouldn’t.

Yet now that the bill for years of NATO provocations may be coming, the first thing Biden does is proclaim that the Americans have no intention of sticking around whatsoever:

It was polite, but I made it very clear: If, in fact, he invades Ukraine, there will be severe consequences — severe consequences — and economic consequences like none he’s ever seen or ever have been seen, in terms of being imposed.

He knows.  His immediate response was he understood that.  And I indicated that I knew he would respond.  But beyond that, if, in fact, we would probably also be required to reinforce our — our presence in NATO countries to reassure particularly those on the eastern front.

We provoked the bear for you, now have a happy war while we deliver “severe economic consequences”.

If Ukrainians had studied their history they would have known that quite often the fate of US proxies is not a happy one at all. American encouragements can get you into trouble but they can’t get you out.

Honestly , the last time I saw the the Queen Victoria , it was in Yalta in 2012 or 13 – my good friend and english teacher used to be a translator and take the British, American and others on tours of Livadia Palace, Massandra winery, Chekov summer home etc. Things were great then and Crimea was a laid back place to hang out and drink , watch beautiful women and go dancing at the Crystal or the open bar down from the Oreanda hotel. The only thing that has changed – are the Brits, the Americans and their foolish, backstabbing governments.

Essentially what Biden told Vladimir Putin is that if the Russians invade Ukraine the U.S. will lodge a very….a very strong protest with the UN. And that’s not all….the U.S. will complain to Vladimir’s internet and TV service providers to deny him all his delightful TV programs.
